Swinton Hall Nursing Home Limited in Swinton and Shawe House Nursing Home Limited in Urmston have been acquired by Ampersand Care Limited, which is based in Crowborough, East Sussex. Swinton Hall Nursing Home has a maximum occupancy of 62 beds and Shawe House has a maximum occupancy of 33 beds for the elderly and those suffering from dementia.
Simon Ellis from Jackson Stephen LLP, Chartered Accountants, who advised the directors on the deal, comments: “We are delighted to have completed the disposal of Swinton Hall Nursing Home and Shawe House Nursing Home, who have been clients for over 20 years. “We worked closely with the directors not only to facilitate their retirement but also to help secure the future of the businesses and their employees.” The Manchester office of law firm DWF advised the vendors, sisters Barbara Ford, Rosemary Whittaker and Jacqueline Frederiks. The DWF team was led by corporate partner Ian Gillis and included associate James Cowell and solicitor Laura Whillans.
