Yang Sing Oriental Ltd
Yang Sing Oriental Ltd is a new company set up to open and run a 48 bedroom oriental style boutique hotel in Manchester in the spring of 2008.
Due to this fact, a completely new accounts system has needed to be set up, which can deal with the construction phase of the hotel and develop to encompass the hotel business as it opens its doors to the public. Debbie Martin has proved to be patient, thorough and totally reliable in her work. She is willing to be adaptable and to ‘think outside the box’ in order to understand and collate the information available and to produce a bespoke sage system which serves the needs of our company.
Some of her work (eg. VAT returns) is carried out within our office. When on the premises, she is polite, hard-working and happy to co-operate with our team. She is a pleasure to work with.
We hope to continue our association with Jackson Stephen as the hotel opens and would be delighted if Debbie continues to provide her personal and much appreciated service.
Should you wish to discuss this matter in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact me on 0161 236 9438.

Windermere St Anne’s School
I am very happy to provide a positive reference for the employment of Jackson Stephen as accountants/auditors for Windermere Educational Trust Limited, a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, that trades as Windermere St Anne’s School. The Trust has used the services of Jackson Stephen since 2004, to audit financial procedures and records, and to prepare annual financial statements.
Jackson Stephen has been conscientious and cost-effective, with each consecutive year providing an increasingly effective and knowledgeable view of the School’s financial situation, including benchmarking performance against comparable schools elsewhere in the country.
Jackson Stephen has also provided additional advice on request, such as guidance on changes in charitable status and the SORP, fundraising and measures to identify and minimise risk.
I should be happy to provide additional verbal comments, if requested.

English Federation of Disability Sport
I would confirm that the English Federation of Disability Sport has employed Jackson Stephen LLP as the external auditors of the charity from its inception in 1998 to the present day.
During this period of time Jackson Stephen has carried out its annual audit within the timescales agreed with the charity and has presented its Auditors Report to the trustees of the English Federation of Disability Sport at the Annual General Meeting of the charity.
Since the incorporation of the charity in 1998 there has been a number of substantial changes to both Company Law and Charity Law and Jackson Stephen LLP has been instrumental in ensuring that the charity meets new reporting procedures in full. In addition to this, the English Federation of Disability Sport has a number of reporting requirements which are in addition to legal requirements and Jackson Stephen LLP has assisted in providing confirmation to grant funders that information provided by the charity is a true and fair extraction from the accounts of the company.
In conclusion therefore, the English Federation of Disability Sport would have no hesitation in recommending Jackson Stephen LLP as external auditors for a charitable company.
