John Jackson - Senior Partner

The practice was established by John‘s father in 1921, and in 1968 John took over the mantle of senior partner, having qualified as a Chartered accountant. He now specialises in advising clients on business development and succession planning, notably for family businesses. John is a keen hockey player, a sport he is more successful at than golf, which he has been trying to play for 40 years.

Diane Brennan - Managing Partner

Diane trained and qualified with Latham, Crossley and Davis where she was promoted to audit manager. Following 2 years at Pierce as a senior manager, Diane joined Jackson Stephen LLP. Diane has now been with Jackson Stephen for 6 years and is Managing Partner responsible for strategic practice development. In addition Diane has a portfolio of clients and specialises in business advice to owner-managed businesses. Diane is married with a young family and is a keen Blackburn Rovers supporter.

Peter Atkinson - Audit and General Practice Partner

Peter trained and qualified with Cooper Parry in the East Midlands where he was quickly promoted to manager, responsible for a large portfolio of clients. After eleven years, Peter moved to Hacker Young as Senior Audit Manager and remained there until he joined Jackson Stephen in 1999. Peter is relationship partner for a wide variety of clients, including groups, limited companies and partnerships. Peter is also responsible for training and ensuring technical competence of all staff. Peter is a keen family man and a devout follower of Manchester United football club.

Steven Gordon - Corporate Finance Partner

Steven qualified with KPMG, where he had his first taste of corporate finance. His experience also incorporates establishing two corporate finance boutiques, where he completed a number of transactions in all stages of a corporate‘s lifecycle.  At one of these, Equitech, Steven specialised in the raising of funding for technology companies, which gave him a strong insight into the issues affecting high growth businesses.  Steven has also worked for an innovative private equity provider and has gained commercial hands on experience through his non-executive directorships.  A “retired” competitive athlete, Steven likes to play and watch most sports.

Helen Jackson - Business Development Partner

Helen qualified as a Chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1998. Before joining Jackson Stephen Helen spent 3 years in the Corporate Finance Department of Deloitte and Touche in Manchester. Helen now specialises in business development, advising both Jackson Stephen itself and a number of our clients to develop and execute business strategies. Her role encompasses marketing, PR and business strategy. A keen golf enthusiast, Helen enjoys eating out with friends and supports Liverpool FC, although she may be persuaded to join the City Blues by her husband.
